So I'm sure you've asked yourself, how do I gain weight and fast? I'm sure you've pondered whether or not you need to be taking supplements to make better gains. The answer is simple, with a few caveats: No, you don't need supplements in order to make gains. However, as an ectomorph, we need all the help we can get. 

We must remember to always constantly keep throwing good quality food down our throats to keep our levels anabolic. The utter truth is that if you are able to eat as needed, every 2-3 hours, on time, then really there's no need for any extracurricular supplementation. However, adding some key supplements can explode your results almost parabolically - if you're smart about it. I'm going to help you blossom into an ectomorph "Einstein". 

 

So What Kind Of Supplements Are We Talking Here? Creatine?

Absolutely not. Today we're going to focus on the very basic and most important element to our journey muscle building on our tiny frames. And that is weight gainer(s). We'll cover creatine later on a different post.

 

As ectomorphs, we have to take a different approach to our fitness goals. Take a look around America. The average person is most likely overweight, chubby, or ridiculously obese. Everybody and their mother is trying to lose weight these days. Except you and me! Our metabolism is like a furnance on a sub-zero winter's day, and all the windows are open! It's cranking like crazy. The beast cannot be tamed. So when we have stuffed our faces with as much food as possible until we are sick in our stomachs, weight gainer supplementation is an easy way to get calories down in liquid form.  

 

When it comes to weight gainer macronutrients, they're usually going to be loaded somewhere between 600-1,200+ calories per serving. They are usually loaded with carbs, protein, and fat. Don't let any of this confuse you though, because you should be sticking with the same daily caloric intake that we covered in Ectomorph Bulking Done Right post. The weight gainer is merely an extra weapon in your arsenal to battle the enemy, which in this case is your metabolism.
